Welcome to our Philomath Ward Single Adult Blog! This blog has been created to offer you a fun and interactive way of finding out about future events, hearing about past events, and to be able to provide you with an opportunity to connect.
Ok! So I'm going to now share something that we called The Log Olympics. I'm sharing just for fun and to give you a taste of who I am and the kind of fun you might enjoy while attending some of the activities I will take part in planning for our singles activities. This was taken on our family reunion while we were camping. OK, so this contest was not actually planned but has a flare of playful interaction that I want you to see. I hope you will enjoy this. Also, please browse through the rest of the blog page and feel free to email me at ldssaphilomath@gmail.com or call my home number listed in the ward directory. Angie McFarlane
Why Single Adult Group?
- LDS SA Philomath OR
- Mutual Interests/Special Interests/Single Adults... Different names over the years, but the needs are the same. From an article in the February 1978 Ensign by Orson Scott Card, "What There Doing in Rochester, Orlando...: A Report on Successful Programs for Single Adults." The things addressed in this article are the same things we face today. "They called us 'Mutual Interest' at first," says one man, now active in the Special Interests program, "but frankly, it wasn't mutual and it wasn't interesting." His quip points out a problem that has slowed several Special Interest groups' progress: All that the single Saints have in common, at first anyway, is a lack-the lack of a spouce. "If that's all you concentrate on, then the program is dead" "If I only had someone to talk to. But my married friends just don't understand. And I don't know any single people. That's what Special Interests (Single Adults) is for. To bring single Saints together to help each other."
